Location

Atobá is located between Barrinha and Preá, on the west coast of the state of Ceará. A preserved and heavenly region known for its vast dunes and abundant winds. It is approximately 9 km from Jericoacoara National Park and 12 km from the Jericoacoara airport.
The fastest slow-paced life you can find

Atobá sits just outside the town of Préa and occupies a prime beachfront location, fringed by wild, untamed coastline for miles in either direction. A leisurely stroll or quick buggy ride along the beach will take you to the utterly charming village of Barrinha, where locals in whitewashed houses greet you with warm smiles.

Alternatively, west of Atobá, Préa's slightly larger town offers a wider range of gourmet fare, including an impressive sushi place, along with a mix of bars. The internationally renowned Jericoacoara lies a little further west, at around 30 minutes buggy ride.

Kitesurfing culture
It's not only seabirds that ride the perfect winds of this spectacular area – Préa beach is fast becoming known as one of the best kitesurfing destinations in the world thanks to its strong and consistent winds for eight months a year. Known as the 'Mecca of kitesurfing', Préa was the stage of choice for the Global Kitesurfing Association's World Cup final back in 2018 and 2019 and the land of wind is expected to host an increasing number of competitions in the coming years.

Just a short walk or an even shorter buggy ride down the beach, Rancho do Peixe hotel offers one of the largest kitesurf schools in Latin America, enabling you to perfect your technique with true kiting pros. Those with their own equipment can make use of Atobá's on-site kiting workshop in order to repair or upgrade your kit whenever you need to.
